How it all started!
Ina grew up during hard and dangerous times in Hamburg, Germany during World
War II, she decided to
immigrate to the United States in 1951 to pursue a life in a land of many
opportunities.
Artistry runs in the blood of her family, as many generations have shown incredible talent in drawing and painting. What was most impressive to Ina were pictures of paintings her grandfather did while a prisoner of war in Japan during the first World War. While imprisoned, everything he owned was taken away from him. He was able to acquire boards and paint and painted his wife and three children from memory. This story was so awesome to Ina and yet so heart warming, that she wanted to see whether she also had this talent.
Ina spent her working years in New York together with her husband Johannes who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1953. In 1997 after her retirement she together with her family spent a few years in Arizona where she took some oil painting courses. She soon learned that painting was her real forte. When Ina paints, she is in another world and with each new painting her God given talent and confidence grows to greater levels. With body and soul she submerges herself into each painting.
The family spends the majority of their time at home in Polson, Montana.
Marret was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She watched her parents, Ina and Johannes, with their hard working ethics make a wonderful life for themselves. Just like her mother, Marret's love for art was also evident, but for Marret it was in her love of photography and that was only surpassed by her passion for animals. Life circumstances and health issues have put many twists and turns in Marret's journey through life - but when she finds herself amongst animals she is in heaven.
Marret is known for her incredible sense of humor, which often comes out in her photography and art. But she is also a collector of inspirational quotes which she explains have helped her get through many trying times in her life. She enjoys putting her loves together with photography of animals and attaching uplifting and inspirational quotations to form a finished piece of work that will encourage, uplift and bring joy to others.
